A MONTH OF MINISTRY

A MONTH OF MINISTRY!

WEEKS OF WELCOME

What a blast these past few weeks have been at UTD! Almost everyday we got the opportunity to host events for students to welcome them to campus and introduce them to the FOCUS ministry. Our first week was filled with board game nights and Zombie Tag, a wild version of regular tag, that left everyone tuckered out by the end of the event. I got to meet and converse with so many new students and talk to them about their excitement for the upcoming school year.

We spent a lot of time outside this week meeting passing students on their way to class. Luckily we had our trusty tent that kept us out of the rain and heat. I got to meet even more students from all over the world and hear about what brought them to UTD. It was so wonderful getting to tell them all about what we do at FOCUS, from our small groups that we call CORE, and our Friday Night Fellowships where all of the UTD FOCUS students meet for weekly sermons and worship! It was a blast and I get to do all of these awesome things because of my amazing supporters. I cannot thank you enough for investing in what God is doing on campus this year.

Our booth we set up everyday to meet people in the center pavilion of campus. The tent really came in handy for unfortunate weather days.

This was a particularly funny picture of me with bottle of DR. Pepper on my head at our Zombie Tag event. I was so exhausted from only one round of running that I sat down and decided to balance the bottle on my head. Kylie was quiet astonished with my skill.

JONATHAN

This is Jonathan! He is my wonderful co-leader for small group this year and I am thrilled to get to lead with him. FUN FACT, Jonathan was in my small group his freshman year. We got to study the bible together and become good friends and now I get to lead with him for his junior year of college! He lead a small group last year so he knows the ropes. I mean, come on. Look at that face. Is that not the face of a GREAT small group leader!

RHETT

It wouldn't be a Stian blog if i didn't mention Rhett! Rhett is my supervisor this year and boy has it been great to have him as a mentor while I've been at UTD. This is a picture of him when he was caught off guard in one of our meetings. He as a knack for being photogenic.

GUESS WHAT! READING!

As part of my apprenticeship I am currently taking an Old Testament class that has quickly become one of my favorite parts of the apprenticeship. We are currently reading through the prophets. Last week I finished Ezekiel for the first time and boy what a book! It has been so incredible to me just how much scripture we have read in just a month.

THANK YOU!

Thank you again for your support and prayers! It crosses my mind everyday that I get to have such an amazing job interacting with students and introducing them to Christ because of your generosity. This first month of ministry has already been such a blessing and I am so thankful to be experiencing this opportunity because of your support!
